Stars:
Niall MacGinnis, John Ruddock and Pierre Lefevre

In the opening narration, approx 2 minutes, there are several very poor audio edits. Also, the overall background noise level stands out a little more than usual. Both problems are inherent in the source.

Subject: Okay religious biopic
A well acted and presented if a bit dry and simplistic portrayal of the cardinal moments in Luther's life. (No apology for the pun.) Stars Niall MacGinnis in the title role. Good period-piece production values for a medium-budget film. Gets the job done, yet the end result somehow is a bit less than satisfying. Good video and audio, but there are a fair number of missing frame dropouts. Otherwise the print is complete.

CAST NOTE: Niall MacGinnis appeared in 84 film and TV productions, including important roles in movies like "49th Parallel," "We Dive at Dawn" (available at IA) and "Anna Karenina" (1948).
